In Transit

By Odyssa

June 1, 2022

Synonyms of 'transit': alteration, carrying, crossing, motion, movement, shift, transfer.

I am in a period of transition in terms of my career, personal life, and location.

Life is full of surprises. Opportunities come without us expecting them, and the gifts we keep so close to our hearts are suddenly gone.

What we envisioned for ourselves become faded dreams. The memories from the past either linger or get deleted. What we thought was forever is gone in a second.

There's no telling what's next. But we can fully embrace the gift of impermanence - nothing we hold, love, carry, and possess will remain with us.

Seats in Changi Airport, Singapore

Here's a photo I took at an airport where I hung around, slept, and ate for many hours. I wasn't in a hurry. I enjoyed every minute of waiting by reading, sleeping, looking at fellow passengers, and doing some work.

In a few hours, I moved from one place to the next. I was in another region, in another time zone, hearing a different language. Airports are our portals to another world.

Being in transit means moving, going in another - a different - direction.

That's where I choose to go.
