Writing from a new space + published article

By Odyssa

Now that I've moved to a new place and building a new life, it takes awhile for my brain to work on a new story. I may have a lot of things to say, but I can't find the time (not yet), or the space where I can sit down quietly, undisturbed.

I miss writing. Writing is a friend, not just an activity or a hobby.

In the past few weeks, I had to turn my back to writing because of traveling and moving.

Today while I write this blog post in my friend's apartment - she was kind enough to let me stay here for a couple of days! - I'm able to gather my thoughts and type them down.

Here's what I think:

When I write, I find clarity. I sort things out quietly. I acknowledge and make space for all my thoughts, whether they're bothersome or helpful.

Writing helps me make sense of the world.

In April, I wrote about pitching to publishers.

Finally, I can share that my first published article for the year entitled '5 Books that Remind Us It's Okay to Be Heartbroken' is now live on Amendo, a website "for 20-somethings who are curious about how to embrace both their Catholic history and their present reality."
